Collecting and preserving photos and stories of the Bloomingdale embankment before its transformation into a trail.
Residents of Wicker Park, Humboldt Park, Logan Square and Bucktown lived with the Bloomingdale embankment in their midst for a century.
They wrote on its walls, took shelter from rain beneath it, played ball along it, and climbed all over it.
This page is dedicated to collecting and preserving the photos and stories of those who lived with the Bloomingdale embankment before it’s transformation into the trail we know and love today.
